omg, a proper update

Oct 11, 2011 14:05

Apparently, I like to fall off the face of fandom with little or no warning whatsoever.

I do apologize sincerely to those of you who were actually waiting for me to do things like update/review or reply to long and rambly messages if there are any of you out there, but Thanksgiving took up the majority of my weekend and school took over the rest of ( Read more... )

so i caved, wtf real life?!, rambling on, bb/mb

I still need to reply to you. Buuuuut... work is throwing me in at the deep end and now I feel sick. Not sure if it's a bug or my body hating so much physical exercise.

YOU BETTER GET EVERYTHING DONE THOUGH. it doesn't matter really. Except, feel free to ask for fic in my Holiday Fic post.

Five years at uni? Three years was too much for me. >_< but I did all three. and hated them.

Hah, you need to share that wondrous piece of cracky angst. The world is better for its existence.

Sounds like you had a good Thanksgiving. See, we don't show gratitude. We celebrate treason attempts. XD

Yay for you caving. Should I be wishing you good luck, or run because I encouraged was responsible you to sign up?

Now I'm off to bed. I think. Good night!

Haha, no worries. :D I am waiting patiently! And now I have two things of yours to review, which will take up some of the time I spend waiting. Yep. But I beg of you to be a little patient; it will happen, for sure!

Aww. Don't get sick! There's something going around campus, too. I'm all paranoid.

I WILL, DAMMIT. And I totally did ask for a fic. To do something as concrete as writing 30 fics in January will never happen for me, but if you give me a prompt in exchange, I'll write something for you. :)

I'll be 8 years on campus when I'm done, but at least I'm switching to another university next year. Should be fun. :D (I'm really nerdy that way.)

xD lol. I will. And thank you.

I DID. We cooked and ate a lot. That's about all Canadians do on Thanksgiving. Heyhey, celebrating a treason attempt is a kind of thanksgiving in its own way. :P

You should run. *serious nod*

Good night! :D

Hee. I'm going to start catching up after I have a nap. I'm sleepy after work now.

Eh, too late. I don't think I got that bug, but I do have a migraine. Boo. But work helped. Until now, anyway. Because I have nothing to focus on?

GOOD! I know! Hah, I'm keeping everything crossed. Not intending to write it all in January, the plot bunnies are already going insane over some of the prompts and saying 'write meeeee' so yes. But I need to update Bed of Nails and finish Follow the Yellow Brick Road first. They are my priorities.

Ooh. I better get thinking up a prompt then. *shifty*

Mmm food. Except, we don't traditionally eat food at Bonfire night. Just have a bonfire and set alight to fireworks. (Though you can sometimes get soup at them?)

*runs*

I appreciate the sentiment. Even though it is now mid-afternoon!

I feel you! We had a long weekend and yet I still somehow manage to be exhausted all the time.

Awww, that's not fair. And yea, it helps so much when you can focus on other things, I know. D: You should, uh... go and run outside screaming like a crazy person! It would be distracting! (Probably wouldn't actually help the headache, I suspect...)

:D No worries; I now have a huge spare in which I intend to get through a lot of these things, so long as my laptop battery doesn't die before I can find an outlet. YOU'D THINK THEY'D HAVE MORE OUTLETS IN THIS STUPID BUILDING.

Yes, I have certain priorities, too, such as updating that fic I promised to update every week. xD I've already broken my own promise. EPIC FAIL.

Go ahead! Don't pick anything too ridiculous, okay?

Oh, okay. Well. It's still a kind of thanksgiving. You're just thanking the person who committed the treason. Totally valid, yea?

GOOD WORK.

lol, It's mid-afternoon here now, too! I guess I was a bit late to the party.

My major was in Japanese, and my minor was in East Asian Studies.

Basically, I can't do anything with my life at this current point in time. :P

Mm, precisely. I loved my major and minor, but I can't do much with either for now. (That's why I'm trying to get into law school. :P)

TMMB? Or do you by some chance mean TMBB and it stands for The Mentalist Big Bang? I considered it, but I just finished one, so, er yeah. I decided to take a break.

Also, snow in early October? Really? I mean, yeah, it's possible, but certainly not common in my neck of the woods.

Oh, nah, I meant TMMB as in the Mini Bang and not the Big Bang, heh~ xD Maybe I'll eventually write enough words that it'll become a Big Bang, but no luck so far.

Taking breaks is definitely a good thing.

Lucky! It's pretty rare to get it that early here, but I'm sure it's happened before; we've had snow on Hallowe'en pretty often. Seriously, I spent half the winter shaking my fist at Canadian winters. It's not like I live in the Arctic, dammit. :P

Ah yes. Mini Bang. I forgot about that. (I tend to write long one-shots, so honestly, the word limits on that are really short for me anyway.) Breaks are good. I mean, I'll almost certainly write something between now and the deadline that could have been submittted for TMMB, but I just didn't want the pressure. I signed up for a lot of stuff this summer, and now I'm doing holiday requests for the month of December, so yeah, that's a lo of fic.

Oh, okay. If you meant getting snow on Halloween, yeah, that totally happens here from time to time. Second week of October's unusual, but not the end. But then, I love the snow. It's a Canadian winter. I have no problem with it.

I tend to write longer one-shots, too, but I tend to write very, very slowly. So I signed up for MB inthe vague hope that I'll get inspired and the fic will turn into a BB submission. (I do find the word limit pretty short, yes, but I tend to overestimate myself pretty often. Better to set the bar low. xD;)

I find the pressure actually helps me in some ways, though not always in the ways I actually want... (I've written more in the past few months than I have in years, I swear.)

Nah, Hallowe'en's pretty common, but I'm almost positive we've had snow as early as this in other years. And don't get me wrong! I do love the snow, too~! It's one of the loves of my life. I just hate it when my city's temperature decides to drop to -42 degrees on a whim; how are you supposed to go and play in the snow then?

You and I could be twins. I live a pretty boring life also. ;) As for the doodle...what in the heck is that supposed to be? It reminds me of a crowded parking lot, and people are starting fights in the middle of all this traffic. I can make out a few words, here and there....but.....wow. I'm a little concerned. If that's what people are using to explain things now a day, I might as well send this to people:

How to...

I think it looks pretty self-explanatory. ;)

LET'S BE TWINS, THEN. I'm all for that. :P I've never had a twin before!

Oh, I know. The drawing is excellent, isn't it? Actually, it reminds me of this scan from a manga I used to read. There are a lot of similarities.

YOUR DIAGRAM. OH. I LOVE IT. Makes perfect sense to me. I love how you clarified that your tree was indeed a tree and not a triangle with a rectangle attached.

sirenofodysseus October 12 2011, 00:09:58 UTC
WE'RE TWINS NOW. Yay! (I've never had one before either. I've had "triplets", but never a twin!)

Wow. There are SO many similarities. just looking at it, I think it might actually be a treasure map...X does mark the spot after all!

Doesn't it though? I figured that people actually needed to know that wasn't a sheep dog or herder or something like that. Obviously, dogs get mistaken for triangles with rectangles attached to them every day.

YAY FOR BEING TWINS. That, like, means that we can, like, read each other's minds and stuff now, right? Am I right? (You've had "triplets," in quotation marks like that? Whatever that means, I'm jealous.)

OMG, maybe the accountant's diagram is a treasure map instead of a vague rendition of an Excel spreadsheet! :0 That's why it looks so esoteric and secretive! *gasp!*

YES. Especially because you so cleverly labeled the other one "sheep"; as a concrete thinker, I may have immediately assumed that the triangle with a rectangle attached was a sheepdog. Or any dog. Thank you for broadening my perspective!

...wtf is that diagram even supposed to be? IT DOESN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE.

LOL your fic. It was so glorious though; LJ really needs to be exposed to it. :D

HAHA, I KNOW. I would have been much better off trying to figure it out myself. I'm just way more confused than before now.

sirenofodysseus and I have determined that it's a treasure map. :D

xD Thanks! And yea, everyone needs a good crackfic every once in awhile. That's what I think. *serious*
