[Aziraphale didn't exactly take his time about leaving the library and heading up to the CES; it seemed to be attracting quite a few inmates and while he wasn't scared of them, well, he felt the need for more well-balanced company.]

[Integra was already half way through her first cigarillo when she heard his voice. She turned and offered a polite smile. Being away from her room made her feel ridiculous for such an irrational fear, but she was in no hurry to return.]

[He watched her sidelong for a moment as she smoked. The scent of burning was making him nervous, reminding him of the disaster area he'd left behind in his room, but he tolerated it.]

Rather, yes. Though, I am reluctant to admit that I am a bit on edge...as is everyone, it seems.

[Integra took a moment to finish and light another, savoring the taste. She moved it to the corner of her lips as she spoke.]

Forgive me. [Integra's quirked lips become a full smile as she takes a long drag.] It is easy to forget that you are not mortal. Of course, most of the immortal creatures I meet are quite damned.

Me too. [He pauses.] I mean, not vampires, but certainly damned. Fallen angels. Former colleagues, really.

Yes. One couldn't rightly avoid dealing with them - and certainly not my opposite number on the job. He did have a habit of making himself irritatingly unavoidable. [And if a trace of wistfulness has crept into his voice, he tells himself he doesn't notice it.]
