Handicrafts once again

Mar 25, 2009 20:29

Today I finally got what my mother and father bought me as a "graduation gift". THIS is what will make me veeeeeeeeeeeery busy for at least few months. It is named as "Sysimiilu" a wall cloth or a rya.

My mother seems to be more excited than I am.

And yes, I still like handicrafts. I will continue knitting whenever I will grow tired of making

handiwork, self-reflecting

I liked it too. I was very tempted to as my mother and father to by me this one instead. It is called "Liekki" and design is made by Akseli Gallen-Kallela in 1900. But it cost almost 1000€ and this is my first time making a real ryijy... Perhaps some day...

By the way... Do you know how much a ryijy costs? I mean one that is already made.

I looked around and noticed that the one called "Liekki" costs over 4 600€!

I almost fainted.

That snowman ryijy is pretty. How big is it? I now that at least my Sysimiilu looks smaller in picture than it is in reality. (The actual size being somewhere around 110 x 150 cm...) And that baby seal and those ladybugs... ;3 You like cute things?

Extra days in week which would be dedicated only for handicrafting would be soooooooooooo sweet! I'm for it! But thanks to that ryijy, my knitting have to stand back. TT___TT

Well... Most likely Sysimiilu is also much, much more expensive... ^__^;; If I would have had to pay it myself, I could have in years bought it. And I have to be extra careful when doing it, so that I won't spoil it with blood or something. *horror!*

That is beautiful! I like that type of pictures. Is that picture painted to the cloth or is it calculated from the modeln in the paper?
