Heh. Surely her sentences weren't all THAT short, were they? I can't remember though, I read most of her books when I was actually a kid. Although I think I read her really young kid ones (Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, Super Fudge, etc) to my sisters' kids when they were little. They probably were written with short sentences, but they weren't particularly rude
