I got a news email about changing the rules for what counts as an inactive journal or community. It sounded like not meeting minimum number of posts would cause you to be ruled inactive. But I didn't feel it was clear.
I found the new rule on their main page. It was very unclear. I wonder what the other criteria is "Now, journals or communities that contain 2 or fewer entries can be considered to be inactive (as long as several other criteria are also met)."
They just increased the number of entries an LJ account has to have to avoid being considered inactive.
When they first started deleting accounts, they said any account with One entry would not be deleted. Now it is two entries. They also wanted in the first set of deleting parameters, for people to log in at least once a year. Don't know if that still applies or not.
Seemed like a stupid thing to gauge activity on, since there are people who never have made an entry, but have made thousands of comments in other peoples journals and communities. I think that would be a better guage of activity, but the Russian overlords don't care about people talking to each, just trying to be like cheap copy of facebook and twitter ;p.
Yesterday was the first time in over a year that I checked out LJ, and I was surprised to find you posting since I know how much you LOVE LJ *Not* ;p. It really is amazing that they could take something that was difficult to use a few years ago, and make it nearly impossible to figure out now, and call it an improvement.
LoL! I like the stuff I can find on lj, but not feeling forced to post things. I like your notion of counting comments as activity, it SHOULD count. If it did, I might even comment more. :-)
And why the heck do they have the 'delete comment' link right next tot the reply link?
