Well, I'm about to head to bed but I figured since it's officially my birthday I'd write a quick little blog post, and also show you guys the travesty that was our cake this past weekend:
I used to work at the Deli of our local wal-mart, and while the trained staff that was hired to work at the bakery often did a very good job at making cakes, sometimes (often, and usually) they didn't have the trained staff there to make cakes for the customers, so it might fall either on us or on "seafood". Writing anything in frosting on a cake is really HARD. Writing anything neatly on a cake in frosting is very very hard. Also, sometimes customers would ask for us to "add" stuff to the cakes that were already decorated. These often looked spectacularly dreadful.
I figured it had to be something like this. I think they might be in the process of training new people, too, because the display cakes they've had have had awfully heavy-handed air-brushing, but that could just be me.
