I'm always so busy this time of year with chorus and work things and I don't really have people over during the season, so with the added worry a few years ( Read more... )

this was the first in many years I put up a tree or any decorations indoors. I'm glad I did. I'm glad you did too!

Good for you!

I put up my tree for the first time in about 4 years too. I did it the first year I was living in NJ, but never bothered after that. Noone but me is ever in my apartment, so I didn't bother. But I also wasn't really feeling the Xmas spirit the past few years, so I decided to do it this year. It didn't make me xmas-obsessed, but it did help :)

I'm about to put the decorations away, deconstruct the tree. I am really happy to hear that you rediscovered your love for Christmas ... and rediscovered LJ. I put up the tree every year on Dec 11 (my mom's birthday) and take it down right after New Years. But, the three weeks in between are filled with joyful memories triggered by the decorations (many picked up on tour). I even have a special memory of performing in Phantom at Aronoff Hall in 1996 and the chorus sharing the backstage space!

Happy New Year!

HUGS!

when I was a kiddo, and too young to do it myself, my mom didn't get the Christmas tree down until March. I refused to have friends over cause I was so embarrassed by it. Most years I'm jonesin' to take down the tree on December 26th, but left it up to the 30th this year :P
