He straightened up in his seat. His heart-rate evened out. His hands steadied. All his senses heightened. Did her breathing sound a little too heavy? Were her pupils a bit too dilated? Nurse!Rory! I love him so much! And all the little glimpses we get of his as a rounded character, like him tagging the TARDIS. :)
I also love that it says so much about River, and through action and dialogue (and rambling *g*), as opposed to telling us in prose. I absolutely adore that kind of storytelling.
"Good, good. Glad we had this chat." He clapped his hands together. "Can you budge over a bit? I need inside the TARDIS." <3
Oh, and the world and the eyelid-less inhabitants is wonderfully constructed!
(And wow, I used the word 'love' a lot. It's the only word I felt fit, though. This was fantastic!)

Loved that it was a Rory and River focus, it was nice to get back back to the aspects I enjoy about her.

That is a huge compliment and I am humbled by it. Thank you. I just love River Song and so to capture why you love her too is something I'd never have really assumed I could do. The fact that I sort of did, for you, is just wonderful. Thanks so much.
I'm also happy that you liked Rory and River as the focus. I hadn't really written a piece with so much Rory in it before. I really enjoyed myself with that. And it allowed me to have the story POV look at River in a new way. I'm very pleased that you seemed to enjoy that.
Thank you so much for your wonderful reply!

(And I've always wanted to see a River-and-Rory story ever since I learned Alex and Arthur are friends in real life)

As for you reply, I also adored it. I'm extremely happy that you liked it so much. And that you enjoyed the River and Rory aspect. And that you felt they were in-character means a lot.
I had no idea about Alex and Arthur being friends in real life! I don't usually follow the actors nearly as much as I follow the characters. But that's an interesting little piece of knowledge.
Thanks so much for taking the time to leave me a reply. And for liking this so much as to consider recommending it. I really appreciate it.

Oooh! I'm so glad you like that little exchange between them about biting. And about the 8 different ways to travel in time. I enjoyed writing those bits, so it's always really nice to see when it transfers across the screen and the reader enjoys it too. And I'm just thrilled that you think I did well with River's character. I had a bit of a concern, especially when she got babbling, that she might just start sounding like the Doctor or something. But I do imagine that if she had no filter, she could easily start sounding like him, meaning having all these minutiae of data in her head that she finds fascinating but other people might not have time for or be able to necessarily follow. After all, I do see her as being one part academic, as well as one part super secret agent. Which is one of the reasons she and the Doctor mesh so well in trains of thought.
Anyway! Thank you again for your truly kind review. :D
