Halloween Treat Fic (BtVS, Faith/Giles, 1/1)
This is a double drabble for snickfic, who wanted Faith/Giles. Set sometime in S7 after Faith arrives in Sunnydale. I have never written this pairing before! *bites nails*
Cover Me
Giles retreats to the porch seeking a rare moment of solitude, but the glow of her cigarette alerts him to the fact that he’s not the only one seeking refuge. Surprisingly, he doesn’t mind. He hadn’t been happy to see Faith when she first arrived, but he has to admit that she's impressed him since.
“If you’d rather be alone…” he offers, but she shakes her head.
“Nah, it’s cool. Smoke?” she asks him. She looks a little surprised when he takes it from her but doesn’t say anything, and he can’t help but notice the ring of red lipstick around the filter as he puts it to his mouth.
“Girls driving you crazy?” she asks.
He holds the smoke in his lungs for a moment before exhaling. “They’re a bit…loud,” he says, and her rich, throaty laugh is a welcome spot of warmth in the cool night air.
“Yeah…they’re good girls though.” She gives him a wicked grin. “Not like me.”
“You were…a challenge,” he says, and she laughs again.
“Understatement! Bet you’re glad I wasn’t yours.”
He’s glad for the cover of darkness that hides his blush. Because all of a sudden, he’s not so sure about that.
