A double drabble for effulgent_girl, who wanted a continuation of the Joan/Randy scene from my icon, if the shark demon and his minions hadn't interrupted.
I’ve Got A Feeling
“And the two of us, natural enemies, thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness. Utter trust. No thought of me biting you, no thought of you staking me!”
Buffy rolls her eyes. “Depends on how long you keep on yapping.”
“Fine, fine. I’ll shut up. But you can’t deny we’re a bloody great team, Joan.”
No, she can’t deny it. And she can’t help but smile, either. “You’re right, Randy. We are.”
“Wait. Did you say… I’m right? Have a strange feeling you don’t say that to me too often.”
She laughs. She has a feeling he’s right about that, too. Tonight’s been big with the weirdness. Memory loss, chased by vampires, and now Randy is a vampire - a good vampire - too. But all the weird's actually been fun. And they do make a good team. And she does have utter trust in him.
She puts a hand to his face, rubbing her thumb over one cheekbone. Sharp teeth and yellow eyes retreat, leaving behind soft lips and his intense blue gaze. She leans down to kiss him. And then she has another feeling - that they’re going to be doing a lot more of this.
