Happy birthday, Charlotte Frost!

Today’s birthday person is the author who writes in TS fandom as charlottefrost. (She has another LJ identity, too, but since I can’t remember whether she wants them officially connected, I’ll leave it up to her to disclose it if she chooses.) As I have been reading my way through Sentinel fiction, old and new, hers was a name I kept running across as a “don’t ( Read more... )

I'm not much into the birthday thing, but this is really a neat thing you're doing -- saying Happy B-day to fan authors, and then taking the time to talk about their work in detail. I haven't seen any of my stuff talked about this extensively since... well, it's been a long, long time. It's nice to be reminded that, sometimes, people are interested -- and not just interested enough to read something, but to give some thought to what they've read.

It's not a secret, and I did mention that I'm Charlotte Frost under the other LJ ID. But I was hesitant to mention it back the other way for reasons that are probably irrelevant at this point. It's listed amongst the few "Friends" (as opposed to "Friends Of") for CF. In any case, there isn't much activity on the other LJ, and I don't know if there will be more after tax season, or it'll just be an occasional, sporadic thing.

I’m not conversant enough with different LJ styles to know ( ... )

You are very welcome, and, again, thank you! As I said, I kept running into your name as someone whose work I should definitely read, so I was thrilled when you put up the LJ site, and the praise was certainly well-deserved. A thank-you seems the least we readers can give back for the gift you writers give to us. This year, members of our school's senior class not only hosted a lovely Senior/Faculty dinner; they also had two students write thank-you notes to each teacher. It was so wonderful to hear from individuals how we had made a difference to them. So I'm happy to spread the same kind of pleasure!
