Yes, indeed--one of the signs of a truly fine writer is the ability to do just that: seduce us into reading what we wouldn't by inclination fall into on our own, and then make us fall in love with it and with her! And you can see that I had the same difficulty as you . . . I wanted to list and comment on every single story, but I decided I should spare my flist that, so that they'd have more time to read her (much more interesting!) words.

What a lovely, gracious birthday present. Better than flowers and candy. Thank you.

Thank you. Your icon is a good visual rendition of my response to your work! (Though that didn't stop me from using a thousand words, give or take, to try to sum it up . . . ) And now maybe I'll just go back and read "Guilt" yet again--or would that seem obsessive? Hm . . . it's been a while since I read "Nessuno" from start to finish . . . or I could start off with a bouquet of the other shorter pieces . . . or . . .

Decisions, decisions! What a wonderful quandary to be in!
