I still owe sef reviews for "Ninja Cheerleaders" and "Bring It On: Fight To the Finish", both of which he sent me shortly upon their release. This one, I needed to watch and review right away, so it didn't get similarly lost in the shuffle. i think it's about time Asylum Pictures was handed my hand-scrawled epic script for "Alarmingly Proportioned Stenopelmatus". One question, however: since Tiffany and Debbie are yesterday's octopiranshark food, who will sing my end credit song?

I bet Debbie is up for the sequel, Mega Shark vs. Hyper Stenopelmatus.

Oh come on, there's lots of over-the-hill-former-teen-singers. Maybe Britney isn't desperate enough to take one of these roles yet, but Hanson? I bet they're just about hungry enough by now. And shit, Musical Youth would eat actual stenopelmati for a chance at a comeback.

reading this review this morning has actually made my day a whole lot better already.

even bad movies still need funding. I always wonder where the movie creators actually get the funds to create this stuff, which doesn't have a hope of making a profit.

The SyFy Channel makes them extra super cheap. Like, ten movies using a budget of $1M. They shoot in super cheap locations (even Canadia is too expensive for these movies), and will sometimes shoot right after some other movie, so they can hire people and rent equipment more cheaply. (Because the people and equipment are already there, it doesn't cost much to delay the return home.)

And, of course, they defer as much as possible to the DVD sales.
