DUDE, I hadn't heard that about Smoltz. Wow. And, eeh, the Red Sox of all teams (YES, my bias shines through, but...ouch. That doesn't seem like a fit that should work right, does it?)
The Braves are (generally) all gentlemen, and the Dodgers are all...well, Manny Ramirez.
That is a perfect statement, and I totally agree with where you're coming from.
And, yeah, unfortunately, there are very, very few baseball players who are really in it for the baseball. I mean, my favorite team is the one with the most ginormous payroll in all of baseball, but my two favorite players are the ones making, like, half a million dollars a season (which, FINE, still a lot, but pennies by team standards).
