Finally found out about Mom yesterday.

It's not the good kind of news.

We'll know more on Thursday when she goes in to the doctor to discuss her options.  Right now we're not sure if it's localized cancer or if it's the kind that can spread, so she could either end up having a lumpectomy or chemo (or something else I guess, but Mom's intrepid

So sorry to hear it's not great news. Has she thought about a mastectomy even if it's more localized? That's what my mom did so she wouldn't have to deal with any chemo at all. Of course, she also had a 12 year old at home at the time and wanted things as easy and quick as possible and seemingly was not strongly emotionally attached to her breast(s).

Also, hate to say it (a little levity never hurts, right?), but I think Washington is just going to do wonders for your mood in terms of weather! :)

I'm sure your mom will appreciate you being with her during all of this if you end up going to Washington. I hope that they'll be able to treat her without chemo if possible but I guess you'll have to wait and see. My best wishes and prayers are still with you guys.
