Word just came through today that the next installment in the Harry Potter series will not be shown in 3D format because the film won't be ready for the conversion process (or something) in time for the November 19 release. They will have the final part of Deathly Hallows in 3D, though when it's released next year.
Given my position on 3D and how utterly useless and irritating it is, I'm really quite happy about this decision! I'm sure the studios won't be complaining about any "lost revenue" (-cough-inflated ticket prices-cough-) since this franchise is so damn sucessful and it IS the beginning of the end for the films.
My hope in the film industry has been slightly restored now :)
