At long last, dailies... but only a third of them for some reason. Reminds me of the good ol' days of finagling tapes (albeit to not much luck) from one stingy director. Fortunately, this shortage might be remedied.

not to be a jerk! but it's always bugged me how blue is used as night, i'm sure you're 10 times more proficient as myself, but don't you think we can do something about this?!?!??!??!?!?!

Sure, let's do something about it. But keep this in mind:

It can be white, which means changing the color temperature to match the camera's film. It can be warmer, although the night is certainly cool and some kind of blue suggests that. It can be no light, or just shadow, with some kind of light coming from somewhere, which is certainly an option. It could even be less blue, like a cyan or aqua, graying it down to be less intense.

The film is still in post, so adjustments to color are certainly common. But this particular film, as the reason why the blue is that blue and not a mistake, is it's nature as a maturation film, about two kids dealing with old promises. Rich color, despite the film being dark, allows some energy to resonate.

I'll see about lightening the blue, as it might be less aggressive as night.

i wasn't remarking on YOUR film. just something that i read about recently and certainly agree with :). Your footage looks fine, it's more or less an itching idea, not you!
