On family, dating and thanks

I really do love my family. More than I think I'll ever know. I moved back from DC mostly to be closer to them. Now that I am closer, do we see each other, do I contribute much, or am I doing anything different than before? I tried today, and I feel like I failed somewhat. I didn't realize you moved to DC (partly) because that's where your family was. That's adorable. I'm sure your family loves having you around. It's sometimes hard to feel useful especially around moms and grandmothers. They are so used to doing things their own way. In the way that you describe about being alone and not really looking for a partner, and like playing your own songs and enjoying your own space. I think your grandmother feels similar. She feels "useful" telling you how to leash the dog. Just let her tell you again and again. It makes her feel validated, needed, loved.

Moved from DC back to Seattle to be closer to my family. I am from Seattle ;)
