Today I Ended a Friendship

Stuart helped when I was going through separation and divorce. He asked therapeutic questions, sympathized with my agony over my children, even showed up for moral support at a court hearing vs. my ex-wife.

I heard Pete Holmes say this once on a podcast about how there are people who just want to complain but not actually discuss. He called them “Askholes”. Always asking for advice but never doing anything to get out of the problem. I feel that way about myself in old relationships. Just asking for help but then taking the asshat back after a thin apology.

Sounds like Stuart is an unpredictable Askhole. From this interaction I have no idea where the ‘Screw You’ sentiment came from.
