Once upon a time I would quietly enter empty classrooms at conferences and in buildings where I had classes and write "Hey diddle diddle the cat" on some portion of the chalk board, whether it be blank or already full of writing. As a linguist, there was something oddly pleasant to me in writing an incomplete phrase. Periodically I would sneak back

I do that with writing 'Moo' in the corner of a blackboard, and seeing how long it takes to go away.

Sort of like socially-acceptable graffiti i think.
