You could maybe use imitation almond flavoring in place of pure almond extract if you find the flavor at all lacking... I don't think it actually has any almond in it, but I'm sure the all-knowing Internet could tell us!

Those cookies do sound yummy, though. I think using the different varieties of Hershey's kisses could jazz them up, too. The the caramel kisses? Or toffee kisses? Or my favorite, the dark chocolate kisses? Yum. Maybe when I get back from Christmas. :) We have enough cookies here to feed a football team.

The recipe also calls for chopped almonds. I find the cookies quite flavourful without the almonds. The kisses are pretty much the centre of attention in these cookies. I think next time, I will make these cookies with almonds. It does sound good.

I wanted to buy Hershey's Hugs instead of kisses, but the grocery store didn't have any! But yes, I recommend trying out differnt kisses.
