We are all so ready for it to be spring! But it's not time. The air is clear and crisp. The flowers are peaking out of the ground, but seem to be in a suspended state of growth, hovering in the cool air, waiting for the sun to warm the ground, waiting for the ground-settling thunderstorms of spring. Aww. Robins are everywhere here! And I go almost-petting close to a squirrel. :)

I don't know if I'm qualified to edit yet, but I'd say the sentence wasn't too bad. Not nearly as long as the two page whopper in James and the Giant Peach. More like diagramming with Bates length. :P Drop the comma before but (since there is no subject in the second clause, making it dependent) and change "peaking" to "peeking", and we are in business. More or less. :) You are adorable, mommasita. I wish I could lay in the sun somewhere and nap!
