Breaking the cycle

I don't know if it's because my emotions have been a carousel lately (blame work stress) or because I've simply outgrew it, but I realized that buying doujinshi and fanarts doesn't make me happy anymore.  Reflecting on my purchases and the amount of money I squandered at AX, it's time for me to stop that.  I'm moving on.

Before, AX was my way ( Read more... )

I know what you mean. I don't think I'm going to AFO at all-- due to the fact that I'm simply not interest/obsess with anime that much anymore. Haha, outgrew it. But, I still like it. Just not like I used to be. At first, I didn't want to go to Megacon, but then... I heard Duel Jewel was coming, so I went to get an autograph & picture. So, I go only when artists I like--wish Gackt would go down to Florida [sigh ( ... )

I could have gone to Anime Boston last year, which would have been my first anime convention, but I chose to save my money for senior activities instead. XP I'm not sure I'll ever go to a con, even if the cosplayers around here will yaoi for fangirls, haha. I'm content to wallow around on the Intarweb and read manga posted on sites and stuff like that. I don't think my love for anime's anywhere near fizzled out, but merchandise is ridiculously expensive. *_* I happen to be one of those whose picky about where her money goes down to the last One (this is why I love fics and fandom so much. IT'S FREE! :D)

I'll hit twenty in a year and a half (OMGICAN'TBELIEVEIT.) Though if my life goes as planned, I won't be married in at least eight/ten years (I'm still going through an anti-guys stage right now. That's what happens when I break up with a guy who sucks. XP)

Sorry money is giving you problems. That is one of the biggest reasons I haven't gone to Anime Expo. If I go to conventions or something similar, I don't really buy things either. I just hate spending money. I'm happy when I buy things I need and want, but upset at the same time because of the money I lose. That's why I often have debates with myself before buying things.

I used to be terrified of driving, and in college, I had a friend like that too. I got my 1st car in college when my family and I realized that driving is necessary on Southern CA. At first I was afraied to drive anywhere, but gradually got used to it.

Conventions aren't worth half of what your saving up for! Well, that's what I've learned so far. I'm happy to hear about your future plans! They sound very, very good! ^___^

Where are the twenty-somethings facing these things?

Will be twenty in two years, lol. I'm currently Wedding planning, and going to be applying to a few Colleges this year. I'm too smart and did too well on SAT's not to get a full education. I have a son, soon-to-be-husband, and God knows...getting married and everything...might have more kids. ;_;
