That movie was amazing. Before seeing it/seeing the previews, I'd never heard of him, but wow. I'm not sure if "fan" is the right word, but I am in historical awe.

Me too. I wonder if his skill would have impressed me as much if he didn't perform with such absolute joy?

That bit of him kneeling on the wire and "saluting"? That's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen: so unnecessary, so risky, but like a benediction over the city.

You think it would still be enjoyable if one has anxiety about heights?

I was amazed when I heard about it, and kind of wanted to see it, but at the same time, I feel anxiety from stills and just from *thinking* about the act.

There was only one moment when I was a bit "errrr, maybe we could look somewhere else than down".

It's such a madcap adventure, and most of the time you see him practicing on his home wire which is about 4' off the ground.

It is amazing. His body is so beautiful and bendy and strong.

I believe, in the end, they just charged him with trespassing and invited him to leave the US toute de suite.

They had film of one of the arresting officers giving a press conference that day, and you could tell he was moved by what he'd seen.

Oooh, I heard an interview with him on Opie & Anthony the other day, and since then, I've totally wanted to see that :)

He looks like Cillian Murphy + Paul Bettany

Yes, you MUST! It was laughing-gas happy, without so much of the actual laughing.

Then you must go eat at Hungry Mother afterwards.

I kind of think we just need to go eat there no matter WHAT we see first...

It was SO delicious. I had the corn trifecta of cold corn soup (OMG), hushpuppies (best ever!), and cornmeal-crusted catfish (NOM). I could have gone all-out and had the corn ice cream, but they went and put peaches on their shortcake, so I had to have that.

There was also the most beautiful and sweet bartender, but he was wearing this huge and blinding wedding band, so I have decided not to interfere. I can be generous like that.
