Mediterranean food in general and Greek food specifically brings out the foodie-rhapsodist in me.

Spokane, unfortunately, sucks rubber chickens when it comes to ethnic food of any kind... although the city has been increasingly swept with the Eat Local/veg*n movement, so even if you can't get real Indian, Thai, or middle eastern food, you can at least get hipster-coffeeshop daal and beautiful spanikopita.

Yummmmmm.

Mmm, yes. I would love to eat my way from Gibraltar to Algiers. Do you have Paula Wolfert's books?

Avgolemono soup for me, please.

I love that Smiling Fish! I'd never eat it, but I'd keep a can in my cupboard just to get a smile every time I opened the door. :)

I know! That was my favorite thing in the whole store! My hand was definitely twitching to buy a can "just because". :-)

Please. You think they don't do quality control? They don't sell duplicitous noodles. They only sell the really earnest ones.

There was, however, the mysterious large bird marked "A FOWL", and the package of greens marked "VEGETABLE". Which, while strictly the truth, leaves something to be desired.

Also, please to stop waving your pancakes n eggs icon in front of me. I'm hungry.

One more example of why I'm certain I live on the wrong coast and too far away from you.
