It was the Christmas after the end of the world. Well, the end of the world that hadn't quite happened. But it could have been the end, for all Crowley cared. It certainly felt like end, at least "an", if not "the".
Something was missing in his life. A purpose. A goal. Tempting wasn't as much fun as it used to be. And he couldn't spend all his days riling former Witchfinder Shadwell. At least, the angel was still here.
'There,' Aziraphale smiled at the fire in the hearth of his shop. 'Isn't that nice?'
