BSG - Maelstrom

Mar 04, 2007 23:00

First viewing impressions. 2nd viewing in 60 min.

Wiping the tears from my cheeks. I didn't think I would be affected like this. After all, I did read the damn spoilers for months now.
'All of this has happened before, and it will happen again', said Leoben of Cylon pasts. Clanking chains not included. )

I am a VERY sad fangirl. I love your theory on how she's not dead. I will now cling to your theory as a possible hope. :( I don't want Kara to be dead!

I have to say that the only thing that made the end of the episode even slightly bearable was the little Ron monster eating RDM at the end. I love those end credit things.

I really can't believe she is. Lots of people are theorizing she is one of the Final Five. Who knows. But I think she will be back for season 4. I am sure that by summertime, we will have some clues/spoilers popping up.

I usually avoid spoilers like the plague. I desperately wish I hadn't been spoiled for this episode. I might be up for a definitive "she's not dead" spoiler though. No details, just acknowledgement of them not permanantly killing off my favorite character.

I'm hoping she's not a final five, but she'll be marooned on the planet ala old school BSG. Or even better Leoban picks her up in the heavy raider and things progress from there. More mind frakked Kara, is still Kara.

I love Leoben and Kara together. I think she was discovering that she is supposed to be reborn so to speak. I tried to pay more attention to the 2nd showing to pick up on what was said. Did you catch the definite 2001 music used near the end right before she went to speak to her dying mom in bed? Leoben was not Leoben, he was the one to lead her to the door to go to the place that hovers between life and death.

That is the same place D'Anna loved to hang out during in her suicide run. The place between life and death, where the final 5 are hanging out being all robey. So my take on it is that Kara knows this but only subconsciously. Head!Leoben was the manifestation of that subconscious.

Aside from all that, KaraLeoben paint sex was hot.

That was left wide open. Dead/halfway/alive? Dunno. Worst case scenario is her character pulling an Obi Wan and her 'spirit' or whateverthehell shows up to mess with other characters heads.

I don't think she is dead.

Yeah, I don't think she is dead. I think she is one of the final five cylons. Head!Leoben took her to opera house to hang out and be all robey with the other cylons. Then her head exploded.

Actually I go more into it in the comments above. heh

God, I hope she's not dead. I'd had a feeling, at the beginning of the episode, that they were killing her (don't know why, I hadn't read/heard any spoilers). But I was sitting there bawling at the end of the episode, with my hubby laughing at me for being a dork. He's of the mindset that there's no way they'd kill her off - that they went to all that work to establish that she has a "special destiny", there's no way she's just going to goo piff above a planet.

But god, the angst this is causing!

*momentarily distracted by the fact that your header is the wallpaper on my PC at work*

I don't think Kara ejected, per se, but I don't think she's dead, either. Leoben told her that it was time for her to see what lies between life and death, so that's where she is until sometime in s4. And I believe that's the same place D'Anna kept visiting on her way from suicide to resurrection.

Death = fact of life

Death =\= destiny

BSG may have dropped some threads in the past, but that's a pretty frakkin' huge thread to drop by having Kara simply be dead.
