How does one bold or italize their typing and then change it back to regular print type?

with the codes and (take away the *)
to bold, you replace the "i" with a "b". :)

do you mean on live journal, or in general?
for live journal, i believe it depends on your computer and the system you are using(my Mac is different than my Dell for lj- for example, "rich text" doesn't work on my Mac and Hebrew appears as just a bunch of mixed punctuation marks). . .
otherwise, it would depend on what you are typing in.
