Ah, ha... Sweeney Todd trailer is out! As thanks to spacebee for linking, some caps and very, very basic icons. Bee wanted the Rickman goodness, but is was rather sparse, and, honestly, the make-up they've got on him makes him look syphilitic.

Rickman is consistently happy-making. *sigh* He looks better than Johnny Depp today, I think. Good lord, I think I've passed the age of liking young-looking dudes. Or something. Well, no, that's not true, because if I told you whose videos I was watching last night, I'm sure you'd be, well, if not appalled, then at least confused. But I do like Mr Rickman. Stop bashing him. You're just mad at him because of puppyshipping. Sod off.

What really makes me laugh is Helena's "Lucy Honeychurch after she started smoking crack" look.

Okay, bad joke. You remember that Helena's character in Room with a View was Lucy Honeychurch? I just think her get-up, especially the hair, looks like Lucy Honeychurch on crack, or something else hardcore.

Shiny!

My boyfriend got himself a straight razor to shave with and I keep borrowing it just to touch it. It's cool. It's just cool.

The result, of course, was that he grew a beard, but, well, you know, there are worse fates.

I can't imagine the level of trust one must have had to put in a barber in the age of straight-razors. I would never have gotten a shave, but then I'm a total paranoid.

There's a wonderful story of a WWI officer sitting in a shell-hole having his orderly give him a shave with a straight-razor while shelling was going on.

Actually they're not that scary-- if you hold them at the right angle they're not remotely dangerous. My boyfriend cut himself twice and neither time was it even close to as serious as cuts he'd gotten from safety razors.

But yes, if you use them wrong, they're pretty dangerous.

Also sexy.
