the weekend has been going well.  Just got home from the beach, and I'm glad to be home.  Had 3 sets of Aunt/Uncles down + 2 cousins + 2 grandparents + sister w/boyfriend.  Not my idea of a party.  My idea is more of like 3 people all just sitting around relaxing ( Read more... )

I LOVE your buddy picture thing (my mind fails me for the real name of it right now). I've been sitting here for two minutes watching it over and over again. Sad, no?

It is impossible to find the perfect perspective. The drive to find that "perfect" perspective, however, is admirable. I applaud your efforts. You will find your perspective, and in that sense, it will be perfect. It will take years, it will take countless experiences, it will take thousands of instances of success, it will take thousands times more instances of failure, but in the end, you will reach your perspective.

Nor do I think that I could accept the life of suburbia. My drive is to find myself. And the only place that I feel that I can do that is in the wilderness.

Actually, as a Christian I believe that the gospel "is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes" (Romans 1:16) and not just understanding since "Even the demons believe--and shudder!" (James 2:19) but actually a change where inside we are "set free from sin" (Romans 6:7) not that we never sin anymore but that we must "consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus" (Romans 6:11) so the Holy Spirit will "renew [us] ... after the image of its creator." (Colossians 3:10)

:)

I.E. the Holy Spirit will work in me to find that perfect perspective. Not that I will get there in my life, but He will always draw me closer.
