Trucking through the year. We've been homeschooling (this is our 3rd year) and I haven't murdered any of my children... yet. It's both the hugest blessing and a fairly large curse at the same time, but I don't think I would trade it for the world.
How did the talk with the oncologist go? Are there steps you can take (extra fiber, walking, probiotics, extra water intake) to prevent constipation this go around?
I have mastered the constipation thing. Actually haven't had the issue in almost a year. It did it's damage the first time. Now it is just trying to get my body to heal from the surgery and then back on chemo. I had a good talk with the oncologist yesterday. She said my lungs sound great (which I was worried about) and no other signs of tumors. We are waiting on my lab results and then go from there. If everything seems stable, then we will wait until I heal from the surgery on Dec 31 and do a CT Scan. Then go from there as far as chemo. Apparently scientists are really close to a good immunotherapy for colon cancer and hopefully it will be released by the first of the year. She would like me to try that. Meanwhile, I will continue to go to my homeopathic Dr to try and keep healing me naturally.
I keep reading your posts on this topic and think that we've had it easy by comparison. Cancer just sucks. It sucks for the person who has it. It sucks for the caregivers. It's compounded worse for you because you have young kids who are watching this.
