It's a village near the forest. The people who live there are mostly farmers-- or craftsmen, like my dad. It's not big or well-known, but it's home.

It sounds like a lovely village. I'll admit I haven't spent much of my life in the countryside, but I do remember that the scenery was beautiful.

Heh. A lot of people tend to overlook it, but it's special to me and my friends. Everyone needs a home, you know?
[Her question earns a thoughtful pause.] Yeah, I'm all right. I got here about two weeks ago. It's-- it's not the best situation to be in, but at least people are helpful. I think we have a chance to do something really meaningful if we all work together.

A place to belong does seem to be one of the basic desires of humanity, no matter what world in which you live.
And I can certainly think of worse situations to be in. Considering the state my own home was in, this almost seems like a vacation.
