Hello, Luceti.

[The voice is unfamiliar to most, but despite that, it is surprisingly calm and even. Wynne isn't one to show a vulnerable side if she can help it; she spent a while studying the journal and its functions. Luckily she's a fast learner.]

I imagine I haven't met most of you yet. You may call me Wynne- a mage of Ferelden, if the name is ( Read more... )

My name's Ginji. It's really nice to meet you, Wynne.

[A beat.] So I guess this means you're also fairly new to Luceti?

Ginji. I thank you for humoring my request, then. Yes, I am quite new to Luceti. I just arrived a few days ago.

Sure, it was no problem.

My sister and I arrived here about a week ago. It's different from home, but everyone we've met has been really helpful.

Is there anything else you wanted to know?

It's fortunate that you and your sister arrived together. It's always nice to have a familiar face in times such as that.

You can start by telling me a little about yourself, Ginji.

[Usually people freak out when they're first on the journals, but hey. That's just his experience.

And boy did he freak out.

He got better, at least!]

Uh... hi. I'm Lloyd-- a... warrior of Iselia.

[He sounds terribly awkward.]

[Wynne is entirely used to awkward children (because really, you're still a baby to her)., so when Lloyd answers, she only replied in that same calm, comforting tone.]

Thank you for your name, Lloyd, though I'm afraid I don't come from a land with an "Iselia". Care to tell me about it?

[She is the best old lady ever. This treatment is completely foreign to him. Raine is gentle or firm when needed, but she's not an old lady, and she's certainly not afraid to crack some skulls. Like Lloyd's.

He's not sure what to think.]

It's a village near the forest. The people who live there are mostly farmers-- or craftsmen, like my dad. It's not big or well-known, but it's home.

[Wynne would prefer not to use such corporeal "encouragement"; there are better ways to motivate a student. Of course, the desire to smack some lippy apprentices with the head of her staff could be a strong one indeed.

But Lloyd seemed like the sweet type.]

It sounds like a lovely village. I'll admit I haven't spent much of my life in the countryside, but I do remember that the scenery was beautiful.

But excuse me, you wouldn't want to listen to an old woman's stories. Have you adjusted well here, Lloyd?

Hi! I'm Ginia! You're a mage? Does that mean you know magic and stuff like that?

Hello, Ginia.

I can indeed use magic and stuff like that, as you put it. The magic in Thedas is not without its dangers, but the general risks of such seem to be somewhat limited here.

Like what kind of things? My friends made a big giant snow castle using magic!

[Once she's back to her usual adult self, Ginia will be a little mortified at all the questioning. Right now? Curious kids will be curious kids.]

[Wynne doesn't mind. She's used to young children asking questions about magic; she is a teacher, after all.]

I have never tried to make a giant snow castle with my magic, but perhaps I could make an ice castle.

The magic of Thedas are divided into five branches, but I specialize in the Creation branch. It is more commonly known as healing magic.

Natalia Luzu Kimlasca-Lanvaldear. You can call me Natalia, however, Wynne. It's a pleasure, despite the circumstances.

Have you settled in alright?

[She laughs.] Well, that's quite the name, so I appreciate the abbreviation. I'm sure the pleasure is all mine, Natalia.

And I've settled in just fine, thank you, dear. These old bones are studier than they look.

There's not much use in signing with it here, I'm afraid.
And I'm glad to hear it..truthfully, I wish you weren't here at all. I'm truly sorry.

Is there anyone you are looking for? I'd like to help.

No need to be sorry, dear. If this is the hand I've been dealt, then I suppose I have little choice but to wait it out, then, hmm?

It takes more than this to ruffle my feathers. As long as I am returned where I need to be in time, then I don't mind playing their little game.

No one yet, I suppose. A man named Alistair is looking for me, though. Kindly point him toward the square if you see him; it wouldn't do to have him get lost. [Nevermind the fact that he's been here longer. Old habits are hard to break.]
