The problem is, my last year's NaNoWriMo story was supposed to be set in this scary alternative reality where the state was all-powerful, you could be locked away for ever for not carrying your ID card and everyone's movements were tracked the whole time.

This is becoming a reality so quickly that I don't think I can actually keep up with it...
