Hacking sleep

I'm seriously considering trying out the Everyman sleep schedule as an alternative to my current chronic insomnia and restless nights. This means that I'll start sleeping in the following pattern: three hours from around 1:30 to 4:30 (give or take half an hour or so), then 20 minutes around 9:30, then 20 minutes around 14:30, then 20 minutes ( Read more... )

Wild. It seems like this sort of thing involves trying really hard to make your body do something it doesn't naturally take to, which always strikes me as dubious.

What all had you tried for the insomnia before this idea?
