Everyman, Day 1

So my second Day One went pretty well, actually. My naps weren't that restful, since my body isn't used to them anymore, but they were still good to have. Yay! (on many accounts.) I'm glad you got your data off of the phone - you are awesome!

And a good thing I am, too. ~_^ I had to hold the cable in place so it wouldn't fall out of the phone while I backed the data up. Mind you, if I could have found the original data cable that came with my phone, there wouldn't have been any problems... but as it was, I had to take an old data cable that had most of the pins to connect to the phone that I needed and solder a USB plug (from a spare unused USB cable) to it. But since I was missing one pin that I needed, I had to bend a different pin over so that it would hit the proper contact when I plugged it into the phone. And since the pins are spring-loaded and designed to press straight-on into the phone's contact pads, that meant the cable no longer sat in place quite right, so I had to hold it in place so the plug wouldn't fall off. It was harrowing.

I'm really glad that, in their latest phones, Nokia has finally abandoned their weirdo data cable connector and just put a standard USB mini-B port on the phones.
