Whoops, I thought I had posted yesterday's report last evening, but apparently not. Let's fix that.
Yesterday went really well, honestly. My morning-phase (before first nap) was really sleepy, as I mentioned last post. But I slipped into my 9:30 and 14:30 naps pretty quickly, and I actually felt refreshed after both of them. My mind is still a little all-over-the-place, which is a symptom I'm familiar with when I'm not getting enough sleep, though I don't feel quite so tired during the day anymore. The evening nap was a little weird-- I ate dinner late, around 19:30 or so, and after I ate I realized I was really tired and it was time for my evening nap. It was fairly difficult to get to sleep, and I think having just eaten had a bunch to do with that. Also, when I woke up, I had a minor sore throat. Not exactly sure why, but it might have come from having been singing a lot while playing Rock Band.
Since my throat was a little sore, I gave myself an hour and a half longer to sleep this morning. I woke up and it was feeling better, though not quite gone yet. I'll give myself the extra time tonight, too. I spent most of today with
lira_chan, and in the course of that discovered that I have absolutely no problem taking a nap next to someone else, which is actually a little surprising considering how much difficulty I usually have in being comfortable while sleeping in the same bed with someone. Definitely nice to learn, though. My energy levels were fairly good today, I never felt particularly sleepy or anything. Though I'll have to wait until work on Monday to see how my focus is doing, I didn't do anything today that particularly required any steady focus.
I'm finding that I really like having this semi-rigid sleep schedule. It gives my days structure, and it also splits them up quite nicely into four phases that are much easier to handle in one go than a whole day. When I wake up in the morning, I feel like I don't have to plan how I'm going to spend my time all the way from morning to night, which is a bit of a daunting task, at least for me. In the morning, nighttime just seems so far away that I can't plan for all the time between now and then. So instead, when I wake up in the morning, all I have to do is plan how I'm going to spend my time between now and my morning nap. Since it's only five hours to a phase, it's a lot more manageable. Then once I wake up from my morning nap, I can plan my daytime phase, then I can plan my evening and night phases after my afternoon and evening naps. It just feels a lot easier, to me.
