WELCOME TO THE CIRCUS

Mar 07, 2011 08:04

When you first wake up, you will no longer find yourself in the place you once were. Maybe it will take you a while to figure it out, or maybe it'll take you only just a few seconds. However long it might take, it becomes obvious to see next that everything is different.

It's a different place, a different time of day, a different type of atmosphere ( Read more... )

Action or prose is welcome in reply ♥ thelittledoll March 7 2011, 00:02:56 UTC
Well it's not the first time Doll's been moved while she's sleeping, but she doesn't recognize this particular tent. It's familiar in the sense that it's a circus tent, but everything is different about it. She doesn't quite feel fear, though she's definitely uneasy, and tilts her head when there's suddenly a voice speaking about being the Ring Master and the name of the circus, which definitely is NOT Noah's Ark and how she'll be living here now with others.

To say she was confused would definitely be an understatement, so she'll talk to the ceiling, as if that'll help talk to these Ring Master person or persons.

"Eh, wot's all this then? Wot ya talkin' about? Ya can't jus' kidnap people an' toss 'em inta a new Circus an' expect everyone ta play nice!"

Mostly she's just talking to herself.

(OOC: if you'd rather I leave off the accent when replying, let me know. ♥ Plus, with the clothes she's currently in, she looks pretty flat and pretends to be once as Freckles, so keep that in mind! ♥)

Quite thankfully, Doll would not need to speak so sadly to herself much longer.

As with all of this mysterious circus' new residents, Beast had just awoken from that strange slumber herself, face up and stretched out on the ground in the middle of the tent's wide performance arena. Though her fake lashes at first fluttered quite delicately as sleep left her, the woman was almost immediately pushing herself onto heeled feet, wheeling around the ring like a caged and very dangerous animal.

Does it even need to be mentioned that the whip at her hip practically leaped into her gloved hand on its own accord?

"What is this?!" She demanded with a snarl, red eyes flickering around the crowd of slowly awakening people under the tent. It was hard to say what was more concerning for her. The group of confused strangers crowding around her or their current unknown location.

Hearing Beast's voice through the confused din of other people was an incredible relief, and Doll quickly moves over towards her, amused to see that she's already got her whip in her hand. Leave it to her sister.

"Sis!"

She made sure to announce herself first before, just in case Beasts temper got the best of her.

And a good idea for that, Doll. Beast can be quite unpredictable when in one of these moods. Having her whip lash out at family would be something she'd consider completely unforgivable.

Well, except for maybe at Dagger.

The anger in the young woman's beautiful face melted immediately at the sight of her younger sister. While Beast would never have asked that any of her family be kidnapped along with her and thrown into in this strange place, the animal tamer wouldn't be able to deny the small swell of relief in her chest that she wasn't completely alone.

"You've been brought here too against your will?"

[Right there with you, buddy!]

You can say that again...

...is everyone here, er...were we all brought here, then?

That's what I'd like to know...

[taking a good look at you]

The look on your face tells me you ain't too excited to be here.

[...he leans away a bit, still incredibly self-conscious due to the large tattoo on his face. And the fact that he's having to talk to complete strangers in an unfamiliar place...]

Well, no. Is anyone, really...? We don't even know where we are.

action is fine too! fuelstheflame March 7 2011, 00:30:09 UTC
If Cinna's anything but awake, the jarring sound of the speakers crackling to life do more than enough to rouse him. It sends a familiar jolt of electricity down his spine, and within seconds he's risen from his spot on the ground, wide-eyed and quite visibly unsteady upon his feet ( ... )

[You might be hearing a voice in your head.]

Well, well, well. Aren't we the quiet country bumpkin? Can I get you a drink? Maybe some knives to throw around? From the look on your face, you don't seem too pleased to be here. That's a ridiculous proposition, of course.

[ For all of his initial shock, this doesn't seem to disturb him as much as it should. His brows knit slightly, but it's about all that betrays him. ]

Ridiculous. Of course.

[ beat. ]

I'd like to know why I'm here, if it's not too much to ask.

Why oh why indeed. Look at you my dear man. You could die lonely! What you're missing out on in life is excitement. And by excitement, I'm referring to Showbiz. You're here to find a new meaning in life. And I'm just here to guide you.

Frankly, Jack wasn't torelating this new assignment. He had just left Peru, did he take a wrong turn or something? Of course not. He knew his way home, was this a test of sorts conjured up by that Crimson Devil god? Maybe it was. But for now, he took it up with watching everyone with a glare and grumpy look with his fists curled up.

Mister Grumpy, are you? You need to turn that frown upside down! This is the circus after all. Can I offer you anything? Some company maybe?

Jack scans the area around him, nobody was around him and hence no one could be talking to him. What the hell? "Where you are? Show yourself coward!"

Ah, I wish I could, really. But I'm afraid I'm not quite prepared to face you in person at this moment. I can however tell you I'm speaking to you through a wonderful means of communication called telepathy. Now, can I answer any questions for you?

Either prose or action is a-ok! astepladder March 7 2011, 00:55:02 UTC
[Somewhere off to the side, away from the crowd, there's one very disgruntled lawyer rubbing at the bridge of his nose, where his club tattoo has been placed. He doesn't look pleased in the slightest, but underneath the sulkiness, there's mostly...well, fear. He could take down sixty-something-year-old men with tazers, but suddenly being shoved into a new place without any prior warning was rather jarring, if he can be honest.]

...why me...?

[Excuse him while he whines to himself for a bit. Eventually, though, he'll start mingling with everyone else -- but feel free to approach him, it's not like he has the gall to bite.]

[~MIND~ CONVO]

That is a very good question! Ah, Mr. Wright is it? I'll just take a seat on your left. Sit down why don't you! Let me tell you, you are very lucky to be here. These opportunities don't come across everyday, you know?

HE'S BEEN MAKING THIS FACE A LOT... astepladder March 7 2011, 01:44:16 UTC
[OH SNAP WHAT WAS THAT--he flinches, glancing around wildly to try and see who exactly is was that was speaking to him. NOT COOL, GUYS. He's freaking out enough already!]

Wha--who are you?

...where are you?

[He bites his lip, deciding that it might be best to just...do what the mysterious voice says and take a seat. He brings his knees up to his chest and gives an incredulous look to the air in front of him.] Opprotuniti--is this really a circus, then? And if it is, then...what am I doing here?

Calm down, calm down! I am the Ring Master and I'm not physically present at the moment, however that's only a minor detail. You on the other hand, are here to perform! Cirque de la Mort welcomes you, and your spiffy blue suit, too.
