I believe they are simply happy here, although my beta believes they are completely drunk.

This is the same fic I posted before, but with an ending! Although, since this "ending" is three times longer than the original post, it might be more accurate to say, "this is the fic the previous post was a prelude for ( Read more... )

Unlike Glorfindel, I am not frivolous, so I want to talk about the fact that I agree that Glorfindel absolutely has the best hair ever and that I always thought that Ecthelion had spectacular features and never noticed because he was distracted by showier things, like that eye-catching golden hair.

Anyway, I enjoyed this very much. They are rather adorable. That's good.

I am no opinion on the grapes, except I do recall in one of my stories having a character enjoy making of fun of people who always seem to remember everything being better in Valinor.

I think Ecthelion knows that he has enough beauty and talent* that he could stop working at ANYTHING and people would still reward him just for hanging around. He just hates living in a world where something like that is possible, so he denies it.

I am glad you enjoyed their stupidities. And look, found my naked Elves icon!

* Well, canonically he is the best looking guy in the city, with the best voice... it's a bit much, even for his author.

This story is even better in its longer form. The more those two talk, the more adorable they become!

Yes, this fic is really very self-indulgent...

Wonderful - a real treat for a fan of your Ecthelion and Glorfindel! Thank you so much for sharing! I'm glad you are writing again - it seemed a pity to let your talent lie waste. I also enjoy reading all the comments - especially Wulfilas'!
I love this conversation - it seems to meander naturally, yet you managed to put so much about those characters into it. Btw, I kind of sympathize with Ecthelions' mistrust of (mere) physical beauty. I assume that it can spoil people's character.

Do not reveal your assumptions to Ecthelion! He will start worrying whether his character has been spoilt!

Anyway, thank you so much for this comment! It is a privilege to find that the stories I write in self-indulgence are appreciated by others, as well... (Plus, it is a relief to find g&e still alive in my mind, after all these years...)
