Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. My mom is super into the books, so she's told me about a lot of the differences between them and the movies, which is interesting to know, but also meant that I felt like I'd already read the books when I tried to start them a few years back. i haven't read the lord of the rings books either /o\ well, i read most of the first one, but that's as far as i got. i find them hard to get into. like i think the world building and everything tolkien did is really amazing, but i have a hard time staying focused when i try to read them. but i'd like to make it through the books.

Oh yeah that's kind of how I feel. I've read the first half of Fellowship, but I focusing on it was hard for me, too. They read kind of like history to me, which is interesting, but I've never been a huge fan of history, so maybe that's the problem. ;) But yeah, I do want to finish them sometime, too.

(Ooh, that is quite tempting! TA Boy's sister might be doing some work in NY next year and there's a chance we'll try to visit her at some point, in which case I could also see you!)
