1,000th post!

Feb 06, 2013 13:13

I realize that in my last entry I talked about updating more and then...didn't. There were actually a lot of things I almost posted about (wow a lot happened both in life and in fandom), but this time I have an actual reason for not doing so. I had to hold off because I was at 999 posts, and I wanted to put something special up for my 1,000th entry ( Read more... )

picspam, too many things to tag, 1000th post, lj stuff, almost an intro post

We have so much in common from our childhood! (And now, obvs, but I didn't know about all the childhood stuff!)

The Beatles, Phantom, beanie babies, those darn fuzzy stickers, Titanic with a massive Leonardo DiCaprio crush, Power Rangers (that's also what I played with my guy friends, haha). I just finished mainlining the second season of Adventure Time, too. Congrats on the 1000th post!

\o/ common childhood interests! It's so cool learning about what everyone has loved throughout their lives. :)

I'm so glad you're watching Adventure Time! It's the bestest.

Congrats on you 1000th post! I totally had fun reading all of it (and wrote a bunch back). :D

I still sometimes buy cute stickers and give them to people. They're always thrilled with them. :D

I had never seen or heard of Gonggi before. I googled it, watched a video and it looks fun/hard.

LOL, I only just read the Alanna books for the first time last year. :P

Lord of the Rings fandom was so big that I somehow managed to feel like I was in it but still managed to miss all the craziest wank. I don't know if I'm sad or happy about that.

QAF is kind of ridiculous but it's totally the reason I ended up joining LJ. I'm glad I watched it after it was over and thus never joined the fandom because it seems like a hostile place.

Who was Michael Pitt on Dawson's Creek? I totally don't remember!

basically the theme of this list is "stop being so judgey and learn to enjoy things because it makes life 100% more amazing"OMG, this is SO TRUE! I think I finally and completely learned this lesson when I went to Comic-Con ( ... )

Oh cool about the Alanna books!
I've heard people talk about them over the years so much that I finally decided to check them out. I was iffy at first because the first book's reading level was so young but I liked them more as I went along.

Michael Pitt dated Michelle Williams in S3, I think. Or maybe S4?
I googled screencaps but I still don't remember him being on, lol. Either way, he is such a good actor and should be in more things.

I hope the first live show went well!
Noel Fielding was a guest which was awesome. They cut a lady's hair together. :D

I just got the first season of Adventure Time delivered from Amazon today!!! I figured that I had seen and liked enough random repeats that I might as well just start buying the DVDs.

Dominion is tons of fun!Looks Interesting! From reading the wiki I think it might be the type of game I'd understand better if I just threw myself into it (like I've done with Munchkin, the rules of which I could not repeat but that I understand well enough when playing with people who have played ( ... )

Oh man Noel Fielding was on Russell's show?? I definitely have to watch that. :D

For hanging out - perhaps we could meet up some Thursday after my class gets out at noon. I'll be on capitol hill, but it's an easy bus to the U District from there, so if either of those places sounds good, let me know.

Also, TA Boy (who I feel funny calling that but shall since it's a public post), murgatrude (who I think you met once at that MCR show?) and I were thinking of getting together some soonish Friday afternoon at Cafe Mox in Ballard. Have you ever been there? It's a game store/cafe where you can sit and eat or get a drink and borrow different board games to play while you do. It'd be awesome if you wanted to come along, too. We could play Dominion! And some other cool games! :)

If either or both of those sound fun, let me know which days work for you. I'm pretty flexible.

That is such an awesome idea! Uhm, would it be ok if I copied the idea? Because that made me feel SO nostalgic - Yogi Bear! Stickers! Titanic! Dawson's Creek! I was so into those as a kid/teen. :D

Also, happy 1000th post! ♥

Thanks! I would be thrilled if you copied the idea!! I really love reading about other people's obsessions throughout their lives. It gives an interesting picture of a person, and then you get to be nostalgic over all the things you have in common. :)

<333 Thank you!
