I really like the new Andrew Bird, and I wasn't even into him before this album. I haven't listened to Modest Mouse yet, but I was hoping it would be interesting because of Johnny Marr's involvement. Writer's Block is adorable, if unspectacular. I'll definitely check out Frog Eyes after reading your review because so far I haven't been disappointed by this new Canadian invasion.

I think the new Frog Eyes album is as good an entry into the weird and frightening world of Carey Mercer as any, although "The Golden River" is also excellent. Just be warned- it's a very acquired taste!

Have you got any CocoRosie? I heard 'Brazillian Sun' and fell in love with it but I have yet to get hold of the albums. http://www.myspace.com/cocorozie

To be honest, "Brazilian Sun' is the only CocoRosie song I really care for. It's a beautiful track, but the fact her voice sounds like Joanna Newsom with a really bad sore throat puts me off the rest of her work...Still, she's one of my friend's favourite artists, so don't let my poor taste put you off!
