Sea / Touring. Something I could use for day trips, even overnights, in the sound or around the coast / San Juans.

I've done a lot of canoeing, but very little kayaking. Now that my friend just got a place on the water and has a reasonably secure place for me to store a kayak, I'm really thinking about getting one. There's a lot of places to explore via kayak in this area.

Obviously, kayaks are expensive. I don't think I want to drop 3k on my first kayak. I'm hoping to get away with 1k. Any thoughts?

And when are you coming up to Seattle for a visit?

That's very cool. I always think of sea kayaks when I see Lake Washington and the Sound.

We're thinking of taking this trip in August, and will also spend a few days in Seattle.

Jeez. I didn't see it coming in your story either! You have to compile these stories....you'll (probably?) enjoy looking back on them one day.

Yeah, I have thought about what will ultimately come of all these little anecdotes. I once downloaded all my posts, picked out the ones that I liked and could perhaps stand on their own, and it was something like 60-80 pages. Not quite a book yet, but certainly more than a pamphlet...
