What an insanely racist thing to say as well as totally unprofessional. I'm sure she'll try to whip out the "I was kidding" bullshit, trying to ignore how there is no pretext or context for the joke in this exchange.

Even if it wasn't racist, where does she get off ripping on the content of your poetry?

If she ever apologizes, it should be a 6 course crow banquet because the unprovoked, offhand way it occured reveals a far deeper ugliness than if she had written it in the heat of anger. Just saying "it was wrong" won't be enough.

It also gives a different spin to "I've already booked Gypsee Yo AND HER BABY". That was most likely meant it as a twee affectation, but combined with the other comment it seems more like "I'd rather book a baby than your shit".

Post this to the PSI board and ask if this sort of behavior is permitted under certification rules.

yeah, i'm definitely going to poke around and see what i can do.

i told the story to my mom and she was very sad and reminded of why we moved to chicago in the first place.

I missed this before...damn. That's not just a racist comment, that's a pre-planned, purposeful bitch-slap. The formal tone of the rest of the letter is very self-aware. And then "Best regards"? Wow.
