The Buddy-Steve comparison fails as that is a direct conversation in a clear context, not a snide comment appropo of nothing followed by silence.
It's also not "asking you to take responsibility, in a real world way". It's ending a civil exchange with "by the way, your mother" then running away.
A stanza mentioning you mother's experience is not an "allegation against her community" which must be proved or disproved. Nor is a poem read in public avoiding any responsiblity.
Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from decorum, agreed policies or being called on your rudeness.
I think if you may have to discuss this with Steve in person, because with written communication he appears determined to not understand what's there.

Let me make this clear: this complaint is not being filed in retaliation for not getting booked. I'm a working professional and am used to not getting booked for a variety of reasons. I am protesting because a representative of a PSI-certified venue said something that was perceived to be discriminatory.
