Every Little Thing That Could Have Been
Rating: PG13. Set Season 9, AU.

He forgot you, you guess, between mourning Lexie and championing Avery’s career; he never asked for you, and it was fine (okay, the kind of fine that sucks, but you figured he’d be back), until they pulled the plug on him.

Then finality stung you: no more hand on your arm on a shitty day; no more late-night, scotch-fuelled hot breath on your neck, hard muscles unyielding, brutally tender, against the inside of a locked door; no more shared, unspoken, unspeakable, fucked-through memories.

There’s a scar on your chest, from the bullet, from his hand the day he saved your life and pulled you back; it’s nothing compared to the one he ripped inside you the day he lost his and left you behind.

Also, way to hit me where it hurts because the notion of Alex being left behind is always so SAD (in the best kind of way) to me and it happens SO OFTEN and in SO MANY WAYS. God. Perfection. Seriously...

Oh, Alex. I still love getting my heart broken by these guys and all that's unspoken between them. This is so beautiful. And you just made me realize how much I miss Alex, too. :(

(and I'm aware that he still is on the show, but alas, I can't bring myself to watch anymore. Do you? And if yes, would you recommend any season 9 Alex scene for watching?)

At one point, I was really only watching GA for Alex and I have quite enjoyed him and his stories throughout this season. I kind of like his relationship with a new character (Jo Wilson) - and I liked the scene where she taught him to fake-cry!

Not really a fan of Mark/Alex (or Mark with anyone not Lexie for that matter) but oh my God, poor Alex! I want to hug him so bad right now!
