Probably because I haven't got the self-restraint not to post (almost) everything I write!! A habit I should stop - my excuse is, I'm still trying to find these characters' voices; also, because I haven't been inspired to write fic in forever, I get excited that I have ideas at all!
And then, there were all your awesome prompts . . .
Anyway, you seem to have written a fair amount in other fandoms recently, based on your posts. A feat which, I keep repeating to all my flist who write fic for a ton of fandoms, amazes me!
Do you think they're going to take the easy way out with this storyline?I hope not. From the promo, where there's a line to the effect that "no one returns to duty after this surgery", and the scenes showing Kelly being examined and talking to the Chief (whicb was quite a lot of air time for a short promo) I chose to interpret that as the story continuing with some realism. But, yes, Shay recovered very quickly - but to the degree, in my opinion, that her injury may have been a ( ... )

Shay recovered very quickly - but to the degree, in my opinion, that her injury may have been a plot device to push Severide into action This is a really good point and not one that I'd considered. I think I've fallen for the same thing that you have in this, because, really, this is my first time being invested in a proper main character too and I'm not used to the fact that they get screentime and story arcs and all that jazz!!
I am so lucky that you're around to point these things out to me!
Because, my theory is that, some of his having no concept of existing outside of being a firefighter was conditioned by his father. 100% agreed.

I love how they keep going from (attempt at) banter, to angry to serious and back again to finally getting it together enough to get together.
(Imagining the picture of Casey with the hose totally makes me laugh.)

This here is a truly brilliant line, I think!!
LOVE the story! Good CF slash stories are so few, unfortunately! You need to produce more of C/S slashy goodness...:D
I like Severide and think he is very hot, but I am 100% Casey fan (he IS the main character on the show, and unlike you, I tend to fall for the main lead, lol,,,)
Are you taking prompts? I'd love to read a fic where Kelly helps Matt to deal with his mother's parole and his conflict with his sister. Wouldn't it be great if Severide went th the parole hearing with his BFF instead of Dawson, huh? Think about it, please...pretty please? :)

I do take prompts from time to time. I think yours is interesting and I'm honored to be asked. For now - I don't know. I write a lot of AU, in the sense that it's not strictly inside canon, but what I've written so far for this show (even the more outlandish crossovers!) always has canon as a context of sorts, and it's not clear to me where Kelly's storyline is going such that it would fit into this. I think I would also need to see what the show does with the parole hearing first. However, maybe . . . it's definitely a cool idea.
