Well now, isn't this FABULOUS!!!!

I love the different POV that you've used and the overwhelming sense of dispair from Kelly all the way up til the end. Having everything out in the open like this and Kelly demanding to know why Casey wasn't a better friend is aces. And I love that you've got Gabby being the one to make them confront what the hell is going on. And of course, always Shay and Severide crying on each other. BEST THING.

And I ADORE the ending and the way it calls back to the earlier passages where Kelly is remembering who he used to be. It's this little ray of hope and it's gorgeous.

LOVED IT!

Hello! Look at me, all late to the party!

Though, is it possible to be late to a fic party if you betaed said fic? Maybe that saves me? Maybe so, but it does NOT excuse me. I am the slackest. This is not news.

Aaaannnyyyyway. You know how much I loved/love/will continue loving this. If you include my beta reads, I'd have to say I've read it 12 times at least, and each time there's a different part that gets me the most. Beta reading is quite different to enjoyment reading, and it has been awesome to do both for this because it's meant I've managed to get a nice understanding of the nuances of specific lines and choices that you've made [Considering the day this all started, the day you in fact did kill someone, you were one hundred per cent fit and drug free.... for freaking example. Because, yes, BAM. HIT ME WHERE IT HURTS WHY DON'T YOU].

And that whole section where he's basically asking if it's cool for him to shoot up in Matt's bathroom?

Man, oh man, oh manAnd your Gabby is also fabulous. FABULOUS, I SAY ( ... )

Oh, wow! ♥ You had already made so many incredibly cool comments about this, I wasn't expecting another one, so no excuses necessary. But THANK YOU! This is an awesome bonus!

So, basically, this wouldn't have been written without you; and if it turned out perfectly, that is down to you. Partly because of your suggestions; partly because, once I had your blessing on the first part, I got inspired! So, I am very happy (understatement!) that you like it enough to read it again for enjoyment after all your brilliant work . . . and at least 12 times ♥

BAM. HIT ME WHERE IT HURTS WHY DON'T YOU
Yep - that would be the MO of this fic! I love that you picked out that line: the structure of it quite intentionally underlined the impact of what he was feeling - I'm glad something like that came across.

that whole section where he's basically asking if it's cool for him to shoot up in Matt's bathroom?
Oh, God! You'd think the show had already done enough to Kelly, wouldn't you? (Well, except that they've probably retracted it entirely, ( ... )

Clearly I'm not over it, as just that statement started to give me feelings. NGL, Izzie made me cry. She wasn't even doing anything specific. Just being Izzie. And suddenly my throat was all tight and my screen was just a liiiittle bit blurry and, alas, there goes my dignity.

CRYING OVER A FICTIONAL CHARACTER WHO HASN'T EVEN BEEN AROUND FOR YEARSSSSS.

Woe.

I just wrote one of your prompts for the Katherine ficathon. Aaaaand, bam. There goes the woe and it's all rainbows and sunshine again!! DO NOT BE UNDECIDED! I WANNA READ IT!!!!

Though, it reminds you of what...? /confused by that bit.

And yet I found more to lather on! This is how I often feel about Alex and what I do to him in fic!! You are making me feel better about my life choices!

That I hadn't come back to comment the fic you wrote for me yet. Rectified :)

ETA:

DO NOT BE UNDECIDED! I WANNA READ IT!!!!
Then I will blame you ♥ If you were worried about Katherine being too cruel (which she wasn't incidentally) in your fic . . . this will be the counterbalance, I assure you!

Hey there! I've read this fic on ff.net yesterday but was unable to review right away 'cause I really needed to digest it.
I came back to re-read it and BAM! The story is no longer there! Why have you deleted it?
Well, what can I say? This fic is terrific! It's not an *easy* read. Heroine addiction is a sensitive subject as it is. But when one of your fave characters falls victim, it's almost unbearably painful to read...and I had to eat like a ton of chocolate afterwards to cheer up and get to be my normal optimistic self again. (So, if I get fat, I know who is to blame lol jk).
Matt acted as a jerk in the beginning. But he had no clue what was going on. So I forgave him :) Gabby was totally fabulous there. She pushed them towards each other, and boy! they both needed that conversation sooo desperately...Great last lines! Love their friendship and "we" sounded very promising. Thanx

First of all, apologies for deleting it from ff.net. I used to post everything over there and hadn't posted any Chicago Fire fic , so I branched out . . .and then decided to stick with my original plan. Cross-posting on two sites is enough! I figured since no one had reviewed it yet, it would be okay, but I guess that wasn't exactly the case. Again, apologies. And I'm very glad you found it here.

Second of all . . . actually, more apologies, I guess, for the chocolate!

Then, thank you so much for reading this and commenting, and it's awesome feedback to know that you found so powerful. Kelly's future seemed so bleak at the end of 1.12 and he and Matt were at a total stalemate in a conversation where, it seemed from the looks Kelly kept surreptitiously giving Matt, he wanted to be asked some meaningful questions and even told to stay. So . . . I asked myself, what would it take for them to actually have that conversation and, at that stage in canon, this was my answer!

and boy! they both needed that conversation sooo ( ... )
