Heh, maybe the no e-mails was a bit of an exaggeration. We did indeed receive your e-mail quite early on, doing your civic duty. :-) Thank you! And I'm thinking that a lot of people are still reading fics and will send their votes in during the last week or the last day, as with nominations. I've been "off duty" myself for a while, stepping back in tomorrow when Rachael loses her Internet connection (probably).

I can tell you that you won't get my votes until the last minute. I take this very seriously and I won't vote in a category unless I am familiar with at least 75% of the nominees. This requires me to at least scan old fics, or in MANY cases this year, actually read ones I've never seen before. As a result, I probably won't be able to vote in each category as I don't look at this as a popularuty contest. *sigh* It's a dirty job....but somebody has to do it!

That is completely okay. Personally, I don't care exactly when within the voting period you vote, just as long as you do vote :-) and I think we were just getting anxious that people weren't going to at all. Take your time and read and get your votes in by next Friday. It's quite a daunting task, although an enjoyable one.

I'm betting alot of voters are in the same boat as I am. When I saw the list of nominees, I kept shaking my head, thinking, 'How the hell am I gonna vote for only one in each category?' Yikes! So so so many excellent stories...

I must admit, I was quite overwhelmed by the number of nominations we received in the end. Definitely more than last year, and definitely more that I hadn't read or heard about before.

Do you think you could make it? Cause somebody suggested extending the voting a little to give people some extra time. I actually suggested Aug 3rd as the final date for personal reasons, but I might be able to work around it if people needed it...
