Virtual postcard 3/3

We spent about a week in Chiang Mai, and it didn't feel like enough! There were markets, temples, Mexican restaurants (?? umm... no thanks), Burmese restaurants (ok, YES, thanks!), and a GORGEOUS royal palace with fountains, orchids, and what felt like millions of roses in full bloom.

How did you know I was going to demand elephant pictures? >o (Too bad for you: I'll never believe your story without photographic evidence! :3 ...Just kidding.)

Your vacation sounds like - really - the best right now. Even fish nibbling on toes. You are so lucky!! (/Financially responsible?; I'll go with that and give you credit ^_^;; ) No but really. My husband and I joke about feeling like city rats lately. Rats in skyboxes. Rats on sidewalks slushing through snow and ice. Rat-sardines in the subway, at minimum twice daily. I had an actual dream about rats last night. :| But enough about rats me ?. Glad you're feeling refreshed for the new year and all the new stuff to come!! I hope you'll find a way to share some of that curry...Just drop it from overhead on your flight to Baltimore? Lol.

Well, looking at our big long list of Important Adult Stuff to buy on top of how much we've already spent, we'll see how things really look at the end of the year, but for now, uh... yeah, financially responsible, we can go with that ^^;

And awww, I'm sorry you're feeling that way (even if you can still joke about it-- at least that's something!). I'm not sure what your weekend getaway options are, but even a little change of pace can be good for a quick recharge, at least until the weather warms up or you can accrue a little bit of vacation time maybe? (Ugh, the state of vacations and getting time off is so lamentable in this country, that's why we did this one between jobs, even if that creates its own problems =_=;) Although, a rat-sardine almost sounds like it could be cute. Better than a cockamouse, for sure!

And it's not curry, but you should keep an eye out for something in the mail, because you know. Tokyo airport :D

Ooh, how awesome-- I hope you have a really good time!! We wished we could have seen Laos and Vietnam, but if your trip is anything like ours, the food will be ah-may-zing!

The journey back was fine and so far transitions are happening pretty smoothly, but man that's a long couple of flights (especially any flight from the U.S. to Tokyo-- how do you do it??) The best thing I can say about it is it made a flight to the East Coast seem positively short in comparison! XD
